Attorney Wells' Background in Tennessee

Attorney Steve Wells attended the California Western School of Law and after graduation, he launched into his criminal defense practice in Nashville, Tennessee.

During his early years as a defense attorney, he handled hundreds of cases involving all types of cases, from minor drug crimes to serious homicide offenses. His realm of experience extends to both state and federal court.

He represented clients in not only Nashville, but throughout the middle of Tennessee as well. He has even shared space with Lionel Barrett, a premiere criminal defense attorney in Tennessee.

Defending Alaska

After defending clients throughout Tennessee, Attorney Wells moved his legal practice to the state of Alaska in 1999. He became the sole public defender in Dillingham, Alaska. During this experience, he handled every type of state case, from commercial fishing offenses to first-degree murder.

In 2004, Attorney Wells became a traveling criminal defense attorney at the Office of Public Advocacy, which is Alaska's alternate defender agency. In this position, he traveled throughout Alaska handling various criminal cases, including:

  • Homicide
  • Sex crimes
  • Robbery
  • Kidnapping
  • First-degree assault

Mr. Wells launched his private criminal defense practice in May of 2006. He uses this position to provide excellent representation to clients in both state and federal court.
